CryptoDrop intercepts when programs read and write your personal data. This means that there may be a small delay when you open or save a file, but in most cases this won't be noticeable. If you are experiencing major delays, try the following:
- If you recently installed CryptoDrop, it may still be examining your files. Open the console by double-clicking on the CryptoDrop tray icon (near the clock in the taskbar) and verify that the console displays "CryptoDrop is protecting your files from ransomware." If it does not, please be patient while it performs the initial scan of your data; this scan is required for CryptoDrop to operate.
- If you have the Fast Recovery Edition and have added additional protected directories, ensure that programs are not running from these directories. Running programs from protected directories can significantly impact their performance.
- Consider adding a custom rule to allow the impacted program to access its own data.
